hELP US HELP MISSOURIANS GET BETTER HEALTHCARE

tHE aSSISTANT pHYSICIAN pROGRAM

Everyone is talking about the Healthcare Crisis, but there is a more deep seeded and insidious threat. We are running out of Doctors. Every clinic, hospital, operating room, ER, pediatric unit, and practically every medical facility in America requires a Doctor. Doctors are the linchpin of the entire American medical system. Learn more.

A new bill (SB938) was proposed in the Missouri Legislature in January 2022, which will severely harm the delivery, accessibility and affordability of healthcare in the State of Missouri. If the pandemic taught us anything, it was that we have too few, not too many, licensed physicians. This ill-thought bill, funded by a few family physicians who are seeking to increase their pay by reducing the number of other physicians in the State, will do irreparable harm to our communities. We need your help as voters, to oppose this bill, and to persuade our State legislators to vote against it. Thank you.

[A] Choose up to three of the following strong reasons (or add your own) as to why your legislator should vote against this bill:
  1. Because this bill will adversely affect the availability of doctors to people in Missouri
  2. Because this bill will cause the tragic closure of essential clinics that provide access to healthcare to the poorest people in the State, specifically to Healthcare Provider Shortage Areas
  3. Because if the pandemic showed us anything, it was that we have an inadequate supply of healthcare professionals in our Country, in our State, in our Communities. This Bill will make matters even worse

  8.

[B] Real examples of how this bill would damage the delivery of healthcare in your community. These may help you get started with your own personal experience:
  1.    Without these clinics that employ Assistant Physicians, I would have no choice but to go to the Emergency Department, even though I didn’t have an emergency….
  2. My grandmother received better care from these Assistant Physicians than she has ever received from any family physician or internist in her life…..
